As FIFA World Cup kicks off in Qatar, on November 20, 2022, the four-year wait for football fans is over. It is the 22nd FIFA world cup, and 32 teams will play.
FIFA Opening Ceremony
The spectacular Ceremony was held at Al Bayt stadium in Al Khor, Qatar(Middle East) this year. Previously in 2018, it was held in Russia and France won the tournament.
Along with the mesmerising singing and glittery dance performances celebrities like Morgan Freeman delivered a speech for unity, BTS singer Jungkook performed his new release Dreamers, Qatari singer Fahad Al-Kubaisi sang too and Former player of France Marcel Daiselly was seen holding a World Cup trophy. Dubai’s ruler and UAE’s vice president Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid AL-Makhtoum arrived too for the football showpiece alongside many world leaders.
The ceremony itself had always been so welcoming for the fans, they get super charged up for the whole football season.

Qatar is the 18th nation to host the tournament. This year world cup is being hosted by a non-European country and is being held in the winter season as Qatar has a hot climate.
It is speculated that it could be the last FIFA of legends like Christiano Ronaldo(Portugal) and Lionel Messi(Argentina) as World Cup players but it is not at all confirmed and neither it is the news fans want to hear. The world longs to see a face-off between the two in the field and wishes them to win as none of them has ever won the world cup trophy in their brilliant careers.
FIFA chief right now is Gianni Infantino, and he said on Sunday “For what we Europeans have been doing for the last 3000 years we should apologise for the next 3000 years”.
